Breaking fast for FREE

If you are a family with children, you might want to know this useful tip!

The Brewers Fayre local to us (next to the Premier Inn hotels) gives you food for FREE!

Yes, you heard me correctly, they actually give away food.  So what's the catch?  There isn't one.  However, this is the condition.

One adult pays in full for breakfast (£8.75) and up to 2 children eat free (under 16's).  So you can't do much better than that! If you are anything like me, you get a house full of teenagers each Saturday night and there is nothing better than taking them along for a full slap up breakfast on Sunday morning.  They love you forever.

Of course, it's great for a single mum with a couple of children too! We frequently go there and enjoy the food.  It's great food too.  Many choices of health fruit, yoghurt, porridge etc as well as the cooked breakfasts.  Plus a selection of teas and coffees!

Check all the information you need here

Let me know if you go and enjoy the lovely offers there!

Wishing you the best of health and much love

Louise xoxo

3 top tips to keep healthy this Christmas time...

3 Top tips to keep healthy this Christmas time

As you are fully aware, Christmas is upon us and it is typically a time we neglect our health and our bodies.  If you are feeling low, under the weather or just a bit grumpy, chances are you might need a little health boost.

Even though you may have heard these simple tips before,  I am here to remind you!

  1. Drink water!

Yes, I know you know.  But are you drinking or not?  If not why not.  Want a hot drink?  Drink hot water.
During the winter, the heating is typically on in the house which will have a dehydrating effect on the body.  Without water,  not only will your skin start to look a bit shrivelled but you can’t function the same either.
Being that the body, and cells, are made up so much of water it makes total sense that we need to keep hydrated.

Drinking more alcohol will need a good flush.  Removing toxins needs a helping hand with water.  Toxins floating around in the body will help you play host to viruses like coughs and colds.

2.  Get some sleep

As we all chase our own tails at Christmas time,  it is easy to forget to get an early night.  Without that extra hour before midnight, it is easy to want to pull up the duvet for an extra 5 minutes.

You will create dark circles under the eyes, you will stop thinking so sharply and often you will find you don’t function so efficiently.

3.  Eat some vitamin c

Not only will it help you fight off colds and flu (you knew that - right?) but citrus fruits this time of year are delightful.  Well, Satsumas specifically.  The supermarket will sell you a packet from £1-£2 and satsumas make an excellent snack.  Healthy.  Provides you with energy from the natural sugars.

When you pour your drink (alcohol or soft drink) why not add a splice of lemon.

Going for coffee?  Ask for a glass of lemon water.  Coffee will make your body become acidic.  The lemon water gets you back into the favourable alkaline state once again.

Keep healthy, happy and smile lots.

Much love

Louise xoxo

My nutrition blog is taking the internet by storm!

I am so very excited to share with you a link to my new blog! As I told you previously,  I was in the process of writing and setting up this brand new blog and I'm astonished and overwhelmed at the page views it's getting already,  with simply one post on it!

Gracious me!

So,  even at this time of year when most of the bikini body workouts are done and people start to think more about health in September (after the summer) there is still an audience for this stuff!

The type of thing I will be posting on the blog are recipes,  videos and lots of health and nutrition advice.  A way of helping to to regain better health through food choices.

Diets are fast becoming unfashionable as more and more folks realise that it's all about eating a balanced diet.  Not a one size fits all type of thing but rather listening to your body and tailoring what you eat with what suits you.

So go over and take a look at the new blog by clicking here!

And if you are keen to find out more about getting some personal coaching from me then see this page.

Want to advertise your own blog on there?  No problem.  See the ad page.

Look me up on twitter, Facebook and instagram and let's connect! I love sharing stuff with you guys and knowing my readers have awesome profiles too!

Looking forward to keeping you all up to date with the latest news! Take care and let me know how your week is going.

Much love

Vitamin D deficiency

What is Vitamin D deficiency?

I have quickly learned what it is because I have it!

Apparently,  it is very common these days,  especially for us living in the northern hemisphere.  This winter time there are many of us walking around with less than ideal levels of Vitamin D in our systems.

How do I get tested?

Go for a blood test to find out.  It seems,  like most of the medical profession it depends where you are in the world as to what your levels should be.  You can try looking on the net but that just gets confusing!

My levels are low - what should I do?

Speaking to your doctor is a good place to start.  He will likely give you a supplement to take.  It's important not to take too much vitamin D as it is hard for the body to get rid of excess and it can end up causing a little problem.

I think I might be low in vitamin d

There are many symptoms.  For me,  I have found I was feeling a little blue.  I never suffered with the winter S.A.D before.  Although lots of different deficiencies can cause you to feel below par.  I would suggest taking good care of yourself.  Increase the natural food you eat that contains vitamin d and calcium as these are both needed to be absorbed into the body.

When it's sunny in the summer,  that will help! get out there for 10 minutes a day with no sunscreen.  Don't burn of course!

My tips for taking care of yourself:

I need to watch my health as I have Crohns and Coeliac.  This means my insides don't quite work the same as everyone else.  After lots of research I have found these were the best tips.

*  Get to bed before midnight each night and sleep at least 7 hours.
*  Eat a variety of fresh foods.  Ones with no labels on are the best.  Such as fresh meat and veg.
*  Careful on caffine intake.  This can cause dehydration and upset tummy. If you suffer palpitations,  lowering caffiene might help.
*  Don't over eat.  But eat regularly.  Without eating all day long,  your body gets stressed,  wondering when the next meal might be and using cortisol to sustain those stress levels which helps give you a big tummy.  Eat regularly.
*  Keep sugars only to treat time,  don't eat lots! Whenever I have lost weight,  it has been because I have lowered my sugar intake.
*  Try to stop watching depressing tv, scary stuff or the news.  Put happy and nice things into your brain instead.  Laugh every day.
*  Walk more.  Talking about vitamin d and bones,  keeping moving helps lower the chances of osteoperosis.

Ok so please remember I'm not a doctor and you must always consult a professional if you have any issues.  I just am a person who goes through it a bit and have decided to help myself as much as possible with research! On the back of this,  I pass it on to you,  with love

Want me to help you?

Hello folks

Have you noticed that the 'giving up smoking' adverts have already started on the TV?

No doubt the weight loss ones will follow….so you know that you will be laden with guilt through December.  Only another 2 weeks of enjoying your favourite foods then you can start that diet in January.  Is that how you want it to be?  Or would you like to just make a few different choices and still lose weight?
All the while,  feeling more healthy.  Maybe you don't need to lose weight but you want to be more healthy.  That takes motivation too.  I know this! Because….that was me.  I was at risk with my health.  I will tell you the story in depth on another blog.  Right now,  I'm going to show you a little casual video of who I am and you can make a decision to come over to like our Facebook page and then get details on how to sign up in January to join our private group.

Really hope this can help you.  You've doubtless tried lots of different ways and methods and often you just need more encouragement and understanding.
If you like what you see, please do me a massive favour and help spread the word.  I really would love to help as many people as possible on this journey.  Thank you so much for your support to us all.

What 'thing' do you live with every day?

Hi folks,

So  if you follow my blog you will have heard the news that I've started another weight loss blog called Motiv-weight.

In just one day we got 71 likes on my facebook page.  I was thrilled with that!

Now the reason I started it is because after being diagnosed with Celiac and Crohns I realised we can control our health through nutrition.

This is how I want to help people.  It's shocking just how many people have issues they live with day to day.

Side effects of Celiac disease is actually infertility.  This is if you are still eating gluten.  Celiac is an autoimmune disease which means your body attacks itself from the inside.  As you can see it's important to eat gluten free.  Which I do with ease.

My body changed so much for the better when I stopped eating gluten.  I'm so lucky we found this out so I could improve my health and my life.

So what thing do you live with that's a bit of a bain of your life? We all seem to have something.  Let's have a group hug and jog each other along. x
