Just one day out of life.

Madonna sang, "if we took a holiday, just one day out of life. It would be so nice."

Both Scott and I have been struggling with health and way too busy just lately. So we headed out for lunch on our one day holiday to spend some much needed down time together.

While I'm still on my 8 week blood sugar diet, I made choices as wise as I could while still enjoying my meal.

Drinking a litre of water must have helped with the meal. Surely.

Two glasses of prosecco were brought to us (I gave mine to Scott who is starting the blood sugar diet on Monday) as we chose our meals.

Starting with pulled pork, I passed my bread to Scotts plate. The accompanying salad was delicious. Apple and fennel. In the prettiest little mini saucepan. Copper cuteness indeed. I cannot describe the taste sensation my taste buds experienced with the pulled pork.  Amazing.

Scotts Dish...

My main course was a venison burger (I asked for this without the bun) topped with melted cheese and a tomato watercress salad which balanced out so many flavours.  Sweet potato fries were totally amazing in their own little bucket of loveliness.

Scott started a little joke with our wonderful host as she cleared empty plates.
"Was everything alright for you?" She asked warm heartedly.
"Terrible, it was terrible as you can see." Scott joked.

I did partake in dessert which was delicious and rather sugar laden I feared but other than eating cheeseboard I could not avoid such naughtiness.  I figured if I were to eat nothing for the rest of the day and be 100% carb free the following day, I could pull back my ketosis for the blood sugar diet.

Scott and I (and the family) have eaten here many times before.  I believe they are a michelin star restaurant and very much deserved.  From being just sweet and lovely to catering for me and my odd nutritional needs with the gluten free requests, I would urge you to get on over and make a reservation.

Here are the details of one of my very favourite restaurants.

Tell them I sent you!

Meanwhile, the day was topped off with Scott and I enjoying a coffee with cream while enjoying each others company.  We seldom get to spend time like this.  When we do, it's super special.  We chatted our jaws off as I looked into the lovely face of the man I shall be marrying in 8 weeks time and spending the rest of my life with.

Where is your favourite restaurant?  Would I enjoy it there? I might have to pop over.

Much love

Louise xoxo

Ps why don't you pop a days holiday in your diary.  A whole day off to indulge yourself.  Do it.

Happy Monday

We have so much to catch up on folks!

Goodness,  just yesterday I realised how far behind I am with literally, like,  everything!

Taking Nathan and his friends to Thorpe Park (theme park) yesterday, I thought I would seize the perfect opportunity for a day with my beloved laptop.  Knowing I had tons of footage to edit for Youtube,  loads of photos to get up on my photography blog and plus getting you all up to date here was nagging at me ever-so-slightly.  Topping this all off, I'm a week behind with my podcasting!

So it began,  my day of editing.  I managed to edit (for 2 hours) then lose my first project! Argh...  thinking I might well need another cup of tea,  a trip to the bathroom and start over again..
Second edit was ok but the wi-fi didn't allow me to upload unless I was prepared to wait 4000 minutes! You get the idea.

Anyhow lots got done yesterday but not as much as I would have liked.  This week,  as I wake at my crazy early hours that I usually wake at, I'm not going to scroll through Facebook, wondering if anyone has something interesting to show me but rather I will be cracking on with topping up my blog!

Here it begins!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our camping trip!

Wow, what a week,  the weather was what we call 'blistering' here in the Uk.  Seems I'm always super lucky with weather when I get away on holidays!  Yet, this is exactly what you need when you are spending a week under canvas.  My lovely friend Lisa admired the way we can be less than clean and tidy for a week.  While it does take some patience, I would rather have that gritty experience and make some awesome memories as we break from the norm!

Have a look at the photos and the descriptions here and if you want to know more about where we stayed,  take a look at the website here: http://www.bodiamboatingstation.co.uk

You can also see my last blog post from the same place.  We do have different shots this time as lots of work has been done on the site which is fab.  Although along with that came the wasps! See about those in this video.

Setting up camp - Harley in tow

Beautiful river views

I love being close to the water

New cafe/bistro area for the public

My girl, frisbee time

Gorgeous gardens

Kayaking was top of the list for things to do!

Every night a fire pit!

Cheeky bee on a thistle.  Love this photo

Fishing for the boys

Flip flops all week!

The downside.  The wasps.

So you see we can have amazing weather here in the Uk.  We were so lucky! What a lovely place to have a holiday (when you have good weather!).

See my video blog here (you will love it!)

And here's to a week of catching up.  See you tomorrow!

Much love

Louise xoxo

ps, if you know me,  you will know I do love a bit of grass fed beef cooked on an open fire.  This, coupled with sleeping when the sun goes down and waking when it comes up (plus the country air) made me feel so much better! Perfect for those circadian rhythms.

#BattenVEDA - the playlist so far

Hey everyone!

As my last Blog post mentioned,  I am taking part in #BattenVEDA.  This means I blog every day in August.  There is a subject you can chose to follow if you like!

So far I have,  although it's just slightly crazy!  For instance,  todays VLOG has me telling you who is my favourite Alice in Wonderland character and why!

From the middle of a field on the Kent/Sussex borders I have found a little corner with some WI-Fi, just enough to pop a quick blog post up for you!

I have filmed and uploaded 5 videos so far and I'll share the playlist here for you to have a look and a giggle at.  We are having fun camping and you can see all the action on the videos.  We visited this same place last year and you can see this blog post here.

Rest assured I will be adding lots of photography for you to see really soon,  meanwhile, here is the latest Vlog for you to enjoy!

Much love

Louise xoxo

Clean 9 detox - day 7

April 29th

Day 7

Upon waking, I didn’t feel the need to eat much.  I felt amazingly light and empty.  With a quiet stomach which was very unusual for me! Couldn’t quite believe it really.  What was this Aloe doing for me?

The lack of sugar and unhealthy, unnatural foods was also responsible of course, yet the idea that on Clean 9 I was loosing so much weight was really quite the ultimate motivator.

Let’s face it, who wants to lose 1/2 a lb per week?  I don’t.  Then again, I don’t want to keep making a massive sacrifice week on week which may seem like a negative way to look at things. To me, making a bigger sacrifice quickly and then just being more careful is a far better way to go.  I’m such a firm believer in the 80/20 rule.

What is the 80/20 rule?

80% of the time you eat healthy, fresh food which you know will benefit your body.  20% of the time you eat food which you know will be seen as  a ‘treat’. This is where your coffee and cake or alcoholic drink comes in.  That’s a great way to live.  Sometimes of course, we all need a little help.  Supplements should ideally not be relied on but we do find we have depleted soil for our vegetables to grow in. You generally know if your body needs help or not.  Don’t you?

I know when I don’t feel right, that’s for sure.

Yet just now, I’m feeling (and looking) so much better and brighter.

For me, I have had a bit of an overwhelming surge of a need to sleep.  I think this is because I have slowed down into the Easter break.  Not going into London gives me the chance to calm my brain down from it’s whirring all the time.  Not only did we change the clocks ready for the summertime, but I was shattered by 8.45pm.  I had to goto bed.

The past few weeks I have been waking at 4am.  This means I have been functioning on about 5 hours sleep.   I knew it would catch up with me.  I thought it would be when I was on holiday.  Didn’t think it would be so soon.  I had an amazingly comfortable sleep for an entire 9 hours! Couldn’t quite believe it when I awoke.

Come back for more tomorrow!

Much love

Louise xoxo

Holiday time in Alcudia

Today, I write as the sun is rising over the mediterranian sea.  Unable to sleep,  an unfamiliar bed plus excitement woven through.

Excitement of the day ahead.  Sunshine.  Sea splashing around those tired feet. Sand between my toes.  White, soft sand.

Oh we all love to get away on holidays don't we.

Don't we?

Well,  yes,  I do.  I love to travel and meet new people and gain new experiences.  Lucky for me, we are currently in Alcudia in Majorca, the Balerics.  It's so beautiful here.  Although the journey has not been without its own share of challenges.  More about that in the below Youtube video!

So far,  by far, the very best quality about this hotel has got to be the food.  It's amazing for All inclusive.  Very A la Carte indeed.  Trust me when I tell you I know what I'm talking about as I am a chef myself!  There are so many choices of the healthy options and you could happily chose delicious salads and fresh fruit.  That good old mediterranian diet.  Wonderful.

Also, as I eat gluten free, there are plenty of options for me.  If the steak comes with sauce, ask for it without, it's no problem for them.  The steak is equally as delicious without the sauce.

Sadly, the rooms are a little smaller than I would have liked and disappointingly, the hotel staff told us that as we booked with Thomson, the rooms are always the cheapest available.  Such a shame.  To upgrade is expensive but we chose to upgrade as otherwise our view was overlooking the dustbins (trash cans) when we were hoping for blue seas and white sand as the brochure had shown us.
Aside from that,  there are really not any complaints so far.  It's only day 3.  The hotel is very busy (it's Easter) and there is nowhere to sit and watch the evening entertainment which is a massive disappointment as the entertainment is fantastic! Nevertheless, we bought a pack of cards from the shop inside the hotel.

Yesterday saw a trip to the Old Town market.  Definitely worth a trip.  As there are 4 of us, it was as cheap to get a taxi as wait for the bus. See some photos below for the visit.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like any questions answered before you book your holiday.

I will be adding many more videos and photos throughout the holiday.  Meanwhile, have a lovely day

Blog teaser - what is coming up?

Blog Teaser

So, you might know, I am off on my holidays super soon.

I’m more than excited as you can imagine.  The palm trees, cocktails, fresh fruit, swimming, white sand and bluest of blue sea……….sigh……it’s been a long time coming.  This holiday is a total luxury and I feel so blessed to be living the life of my dreams.

More and more, things are coming into fruition for me and I am so excited to share with you how I have done it.  I have been keeping a secret from you! Bursting to share with you!

I need to focus on one more bit of work and then I can release this to you.  Don’t try and guess as you won’t,  you can’t.  It’s impossible.  Suffice to say, I have been keeping written blog posts in the ‘drafts’ file for ages.  Then my Youtube channel has quite a few uploaded videos which are still marked as private.  Working hard, I hope to be able to release these to you not long after  I return from holiday.  I know this seems very cloak and dagger but it’s all good!

Just promise me you will click to follow this blog on bloglovin’ and my Youtube channel too so you keep up to date for when I release my new news.  It’s super exciting.

Meanwhile, watch this space for holiday news too! I cannot wait to show you my photos and videos.  I’m currently manifesting an amazing room and wonderful food, drinks, fun and laughter!

How are things with you?  Tell me all of your news! I’m excited to know how the Law of Attraction lifestyle is going for you?  Did you download any of the books or DVD’s from the right hand side of my website? I know they will have helped massively.  Game changers!

Wishing you much love
