In this video I will have a good chat with you in the car on my way to take a couple of hours off from work to walk Harley, queue up for a Starbucks (see how much he wags his tail while we wait in the sunshine in the queue - bless him!) and sit by the waterside enjoying the fresh, crisp December air.
I loved this day in my life and I was feeling so thankful for the freedom we DO have rather than the lockdown which is stopping us.
A Vlogmas day in the life of a crohns person – Day 3 2020
In this video you can see what a typical day in the life looks like for me. Part of it shows what I do to take care of my health as someone with Autoimmune disease, and there are some general life bits, like simply heading to the shops.
At the end of this video you can see what I was doing on this vlogmas day in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019 …
The festivities begin today as we put up the Christmas tree and decorations!
But what on Earth was going on? Had the tree taken up it's fill of a cheeky tipple it seems as it was not happy about standing upright at all!No matter the angle, it just kept tipping over - so we stopped for dinner and a bit of a de-stress until we finally got back to it and successfully stood up the tree and baubles!
This was a very blessed day as the twins had the day off, we played Heart Xmas on the radio and decorated the house together. I am feeling so full of Christmas cheer this year and I have no idea why (nothing is really going on in comparison to most years as you can see from this video on day 1 when I shared previous vlogmas' : https://youtu.be/sVZH_l7pH90 ) but I'll take that festive feeling gladly after the year we have all had!
The twins and I had a wonderful time choosing our Christmas tree and we went for a different type of tree this year. The branches look very different! What else did we see at this farm?
If you love a VLOGMAS video you can see how far we have come over the previous years! Have a look and enjoy getting in the festive spirit.
This crazy 2020 has set us all in a spin, but unfortunately not on the dance floor. We have missed going out, dancing and getting in the festive spirit this year so I thought I would share previous years vlogs as well as keeping you up to date with how this December in looking in the Usher house.
Back in 2014 I started a science degree in London and most of my Vlogmas time was spent getting on a train. Dad was still with us, as he was in 2015 when I have moved to a closer university. By 2016 he was void from our vlogs which was a great loss at Christmas time, it was definitely one of his favourite times of the year and me and him were always close at Chrisms and new year. I remember how much he appreciated me making soup for a starter, just for him, because everyone else wanted something else. I would warm up the roll in the oven and he commented how 'no-one else' would think of such a thing. 2017 saw my head down and bum up and I didn't vlog that year. We had lost Dad, I had organised the funeral and all that goes with losing someone and taken care of mum after she had a massive heart attack, a year to the day of us losing Dad, while trying to deal with my own health issues and a science degree (as well as single mum and full time work). Mum moved in with us. It was hard. But I missed Vlogmas.
2018 saw a very different story as I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis. An autoimmune arthritic condition which can be very life limiting. I thought, 'let's just blinking live my fullest life,' and things got crazy, fun and sometimes a little giggly. That year was full (I mean: FULL) of dancing and parties and loads of those can be seen in this vlogmas throwback, as well as some really cute dresses!
Last year, I lost my gorgeous friend Sharon on the 2nd December but also filled my heart in other ways, unexpectedly. But I gratefully turned 50 on new years eve and remembered that life is a blessing, and being old enough for grey hairs is something to be thankful for.
Of course, 2020 has been a crazy year but we have created a best selling non fiction book, totally refurbished our house with major building works, learnt to power walk FARRRRR distances, I've made a couple of new, awesome friends and I secured a brand new doctoral research place on a subject very close to my heart. This December, I really feel blessed, despite life challenges and this Christmas I wish the same for you as we head into 2021 together, creating our Lusher Life. Louise xoxo
