Which diet should you go for?

It's a real minefield isn't it!

So many different diets out there on the market,  of course always with skinny gorgeous models to promote them who never demonstrate that they may break out in a sweat and work out really hard at the gym too……

What are you to do?

How do you know what works for you and what doesn't before you invest time and money in the said diet.
Over the next few blogs I will review my knowledge of the 'diets' listed below for you so you can have a think about what might work for you.  They are all so different aren't they!
Personally,  my favourite is Atkins, or general Low carb diets.  They seem to be the ones that have the greatest chance of fitting into your every day life for longevity and also a really good weight loss can be achieved from them too.  It's a tricky one for vegetarians really unless you like an awful lot of green vegetables.  I guess you'd be hungry without the meat based protein.

My opinion is that we should all do well cutting down on some sugars!  I get a little frustrated at the low fat diets.  I know we shouldn't eat loads of bad fats but we still need the good fats.  It can get complicated but the good fats help lower the bad cholesterol.  Sugar however, has no good properties pretty much whatsoever.

So here you will find a list of books in relation to the most popular diets.  Click the links to download.

This diet you will feast for 5 days, fast for 2 days

Famous Atkins Low carb diet,  gets your body into Ketosis which burns your fat stores fast

The ever famous Weight watchers cook book. This diet works on points values, based on calories and low fat

Are you a slimming world member? This book is great for you!

One of my personal favourites for anyone who has difficulty with any tummy issues.  If your stomach grumbles a lot and you suffer wind, pain, toilet troubles and have difficulty losing weight this could be your answer.  Great for intestinal issues and those unable to tolerate poly saccharides and di sacchirides

Ketostix are great to see if you are in ketosis or not and if you are, by how far.  These are for low carb diets. Basically, you pee on them and wait for colour change

No experience of this diet but a few of my clients like this plan

A client of mine lost weight slowly but surely on this diet.  She looks fab and is over 60 too.

Now this idea I LOVE! It's also known as the blood group type diet! It works for me.

General information about what we should be eating for optimum nutrition.  This is an in-depth educational journey which will enhance your life and your health.

Please let me know if you would like to discuss any further diets on here.  Which is your favourite?  Which do you have success with?  Please check back here for information on the Jason Vale Juicemaster 'stuff' which is coming soon.

Really hope this helps you.  Of course,  choose whichever plan suits you then come on over to my Facebook group to get the motivation you need from like minded others.  Click here for details.

Sending you much love for health and happiness

Keeping hair healthy, professional hair products?

Are professional hair products really worth the investment?

To be honest,  YES!

Having a long career in the hairdressing industry I do feel qualified to let you know that the best thing you can do for your hair is invest wisely in the best products you can.

You will find a video below to give you more information but to be honest,  you most likely know what suits your hair all by yourself!  Honestly,  just pay it some attention when you shampoo,  condition and use styling products.  How does it feel?

“Louise please tell me,  does changing your shampoo help?”

I think so!  Not because your hair simply ‘gets used to it’ as people say – although you could call it that if you like.  Rather it’s a case of some shampoo and conditioner contains different ingredients to the next one.  At times this can cause a ‘build up’ which coats the hair shaft.  This is not good.  Imagine trying to put self tan lotion over the top of your moisturizer…..

It won’t work!

Why?  Obvious really – it needs to soak into the skin.  Exactly what conditioner needs to do on your hair.  If there is a build up then ‘no way’ will the conditioner get into the hair shaft to create moisturising  activities!

I’ll make another video for you to show how to create salon beautiful hair at home simply by changing your shampoo techniques – watch this space.

So professional products not only come with the advice from your salon expert but also the ingredients will be richer, needing less of it which is better in the long run for your pocket,  the environment and of course for your hair.

Lots of us are LOVING long hair right now – along with long dresses which pleases me…….these locks will not get longer if you don’t look after them.  The ends will break off resulting in you saying: “My hair never grows!”

Feel free to send me your questions: If you would like to keep it private you can email me at louise-usher@virginmedia.com

How DO I begin writing each day?

've been asked a brilliant and interesting question - "How do you center yourself and get started each day as I seem to waste the first 10-15 minutes figuring out what to say?"
Image
I started thinking over this answer and most likely, like many of you,  I started by thinking of a text book answer.
To be totally upfront and honest,  I was going to say:
Try placing your feet both flat on the floor.
Imagine the roots of a tree pulling you into the ground,  centering you and grounding you.
See with your inner eye a beam of golden light going through the top of your head right through your body.
Take a deep breath in and slowly release through your mouth.
Click your fingers and place them on the keyboard and see what comes.
Now: Of course you can use this technique!
For me,  I tend to find I always have loads to say and it just seems to flow.
Can I be really honest with you? I, like many of my writer friends I know just seem to sit and feel the flow and just type.  Often not needing to make too many editorial changes.  When I read back over my writing it sounds like a different person than me.  As if something magic happens.  This shows that within our own subconsious mind there is for sure something going on that is not in our consious mind.  I know this of me which is honestly why I feel when I write something down,  the reader gets better value out of me than if it's not written.
Do you find this as a writer?  When you blog,  magic happens?
I'm so lucky with my Salon Managers who ask me to manage and write their blogs for them,  it is packed full of information but also with a feeling and a flow full of information! This is a role I LOVE and clients of the salons love it too,  feeling connected as part of a community.
I'm interested to know,  what style do you write in?  What gets you going?  Do you use someone else?
Of course,  there's always the old favourite,  intending it through the law of attraction.
Have an awesome day

Look what the flip I did!

Look how brave I am!!!!

I don't mean just the snake in the video... (video is at the bottom of this blog)

Now yes, the snake thing was pretty scary and totally took me out of my comfort zone!

Yet while I was in this place I have previously called paradise... (you've heard that one before) I also fell head over heels in LOVE

Love.......

Funny thing that,  love.  Now I've sat quietly on this for some time because...... well,   because I'm a professional person who takes her career seriously.

Now...

While my work has a few different slants,  Primarily I help salon businesses with the marketing and management of their salons.  This is no secret.

I also still do styling for  several A-listers!

Folks have been asking me for ages to teach my "secret" on how I managed to turn my life around from a gloomy place to the paradise it now is.

I was running some workshops..

Spreading the word of the Law of Attraction.  People wanted more and more of this from me.

Cut to today,  I'm still the same business woman but now I've opened up my life to show more and more of the personal side of me.  I've popped a video on Youtube which is the start of documenting how I found my ideal partner.  He and I have quite a story to share with you and we are going to be adding more and more to this channel so please go have a look, feel free to share and you must subscribe to make sure you don't miss any more of this story!

We are hoping that people will beleive more and more that dreams do come true and I'm sharing the love via the net and it's my dream to empower people enough to carry on making this stuff.  I need your support and hoping that with the support of amazon,  my books, the affiliate links and the like that we can keep on providing this stuff for free and continue to teach folks

"Don't stop believing"  (sing along now) because I know that dreams really do come true!

Salon Mystery Shopper Services

Salon Consultant and Mystery Shopper services

So, what does a client see?
When you invite a client into your salon, are you ready to impress them? To hear a gasp of “Wow!”
Now, should you find that you are the type of salon who’s decor and interior will never make the client gasp with that “Wow” what can you do?
Give up?
Accept that profit will be low, staff turnover high and just go with the unacceptable levels of service that go hand in hand with a regular salon that has no “Wow” factor?
Of course NOT!!!!
There are so many ways to turn around your salon if it is not making a profit….. these ways can be easy and they can be FREE.
Would you like to know HOW?
Generally, it might be surprisingly easy.  Yet if you are a salon which  has managers busy cutting hair 80% of their time, then you might well be missing some direction and leadership.
The best foot forward there is to employ help in the form of experienced and educated salon consultant, yes, like me!
Having many years working in management and lots and lots of training, there is a wealth of experience just waiting to be shared with you and your team. Some people are concerned they may be tied into a contract of some sort and end up paying a lot of money for this service.
Generally, there will be no contracts and you are free to book as many or as few days as you like although don’t expect too many miracles with only one day booked.
Often, coaches or consultants will offer an hour or two over the net using skype or other forms of chat.  This can be cost effective.
Yet my recommendation for my salons first and foremost is to book a Mystery shopper report.
This is not your bog standard report with yes/no answers. Instead this is carried out by qualified industry experts who can do the usual observations and then also go ahead and make recommendations with clear instructions on HOW you can do this yourself.
Involving 2 reports, one will detail the findings of the “client”/ mystery shopper as you would find as a regular mystery shopper and then as a consultant, you will find details of websites you can connect with to find free furniture,  better deals on your retail products etc….
After taking action over a couple of months, you can then go ahead and see the results. If you find you are simply too busy to deal with this yourself then you may need to get the consultant onboard to help put things into action for you. At least you have the chance to change things yourself with an expert opinion to help you.
Imagining that your salon is creating a WOW factor to your clients is no good.
You need to KNOW that your clients are seeing great things when they walk into the salon.
My next few blogs I will be detailing this for you step by step so you can begin to have a think about exactly what will be seen through the clients eyes. All for FREE so please sign up for my blog and you will find out when I’m here giving you the heads up on your competition!
Come on, let’s do it!
